My Food Industry Journey
After completing a Bachelor of Food Science and Technology at Santiago de Chile University (Chile, South America) in 2010, I worked as a Food Technologist in Quality Assurance & Quality Control for the Fast Manufacturing Consumer Goods (FMCG), Foodservice and Flavour industries where I finally led my career towards Product Development, by assisting stakeholders in utilising my technical expertise in sensory evaluation, colours & flavours, food ingredients and several food technologies by managing to place the products into the market place.
In 2015, I won a scholarship to study for a Certificate IV in Food Science & Technology at William Angliss Institute (Melbourne). Since established in Australia, I have worked in gelato production, as a product development coordinator at Kadac Pty Ltd and at the same time, I was a technical consultant in product development collaborating on various projects with AAS Food Technology Pty Ltd.
My Business Journey
As I am constantly reinventing and professionally developing, I saw an opportunity to apply my strong technical background, communication skills and passion for creativity to translate other people’s ideas into successful products.
After two years of consulting, I decided to set up Great Food Creations Pty Ltd, which supports businesses in product development from concept to industrialisation by delivering food science and technology advice.
With the company, I wish for people to learn and thrive as their ideas become a successful reality by supporting, guiding, and sharing my Food Science and Technology expertise when developing tailored products for their business.

Pilar is a Professional member of The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology. She also was the Victoria Branch Chair from 2020 to 2023 and has participated in the National mentoring program for the institute.

As required since 2019, Pilar has been participating as a trained taste panellist at CASS Food Research Centre.
